About Us
Pyinnya Shway O was set up in 2009, the brain child of two
sisters, one a diplomat/lawyer the other a teacher/psychologist.
Both having received their formal education in UK, People’s
Republic of China, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
The founders both deeply believes that a good education forms
the basic blocks for success in life and also strongly believes
in continuous development through lifelong learning. The name
Pyinnya Shway O was chosen in memory of their father, a Second
World War Veteran, who constantly reminded them the value of a
good education by constantly citing the age old Myanmar proverb,
“ Pyinnya Shway O, lu ma khoe”,
meaning :
education is the only true pot of gold that nobody can steal or
take away for you!
The Managing Director of Pyinnya Shway O, a former diplomat
holds an LL. B Degree in Law from the University of Yangon and a
Master of Law Degree LL.M from the prestigious IMO-International
Maritime Law Institute in Malta.
She has also studied at Wuhan University, China and Beijing
University, China with a Chinese Government Scholarship and
whilst serving in New York, took the opportunity to study
various courses at SIPA, Columbia University, New York and the
United Nations Institute for Training and Research(UNITAR). She
has traveled to 18 countries in three continents a looks forward
to further adding onto this list in the new role she has chosen
as an education agent.
The co-founder, has experience in both the business sector
and education sector. She has taught English for many years at
several major Institutes in China and continues to play her role
as a nurturer of young minds. She recently arrived back from Sri
Lanka where she studied for her Master’s Degree in Buddhism and
is currently doing research work for her M.Phil in Buddhism. We
will be holding free classes on “Buddhism in English” for
students starting from 2012 summer!
